Reefer containers for sale
A reefer (refrigerated) container is an insulated shipping container with a built-in refrigeration unit. It keeps the set temperature throughout the journey, so it is used to ship fruit, vegetables and other food, and as freezer or cold storage.
How a reefer container works
The walls and doors are sandwich panels with polyurethane foam insulation, and the floor is a T-shaped aluminium profile that lets air flow under the cargo and can take a forklift. The refrigeration unit runs on mains power (360/460 V, 3-phase, 50 Hz) and can both cool and heat, so it can keep cargo at roughly -30 °C to +30 °C, and some models down to -40 °C. The unit can also control humidity.
Thanks to the insulation, the set temperature holds for a long time even if the unit is left without power for a while.
What reefer containers are used for
- shipping food and drinks by sea, rail and road;
- freezer or cold storage for supermarkets, restaurants and producers;
- temporary cold storage for the season or for events;
- storage of other temperature-sensitive goods.

Brands, service and warranty
We offer Carrier, Thermo King, Daikin and Starcool reefer containers, service them and supply spare parts. The compressor and controller of the refrigeration unit carry a 3-month warranty, provided the unit is commissioned and serviced by licensed refrigeration technicians. Read about one of the brands in Daikin reefer containers.
New or used reefer
Reefer containers are available new and used. A new reefer suits long use and shipping, while a used one is often good value for stationary cold storage. Tell us the temperature and the cargo, and we will suggest the right unit. To learn how the refrigeration unit works, read what is a reefer container.
How to choose a reefer container
- Temperature - check what your cargo needs: chilled goods need above-zero temperatures, frozen goods below zero.
- Size - a 20ft reefer holds 10 euro pallets, a 40ft one 23 and a 45ft one 32.
- Power - make sure the site has a 3-phase supply of 360/460 V, 50 Hz.
- New or used - choose new for shipping and long use; for stationary cold storage a used reefer is often enough.
- Service - the unit should be serviced by refrigeration technicians; we provide service and spare parts.
Delivery and installation
We deliver reefer containers across Latvia and the Baltics. Before delivery, prepare a level, firm spot with a power connection nearby. After installation, a refrigeration technician commissions the unit - this is also a condition of the warranty.
